Housing
Exchange visitors in the US are typically responsible for securing housing for their international stay. In some cases, you may receive recommendations or dedicated intern housing options from your host company.
Here are some tips for a smooth and successful housing search:
Utilize well-established short-term, international, or student housing providers near your host company.
Ensure that your housing option is no more than fifty (50) miles from your host company.
If you need to interview with potential housing hosts or roommates, consider a shorter term housing option such as a hotel or AirBNB as temporary housing while you finalize your arrangement for your full stay.
If you book a privately arranged housing option, be sure to take into consideration any aspects that may need to be coordinated in advance or when you leave.
Some considerations may include security deposit, rent payment schedules, utility costs/payment, any furnishing needs/options, housing host/landlord contact information.
